Agicoat Silver Calcium Alginate Dressing

Non-stick dressings for medium to high exudate wounds

This non-stick dressing that combines the inhibitory effect of silver ions with its high adsorption capacity of calcium alginate.

Ingredients:

Calcium alginate 2%, Silver 1.5%, Carboxymethyl cellulose

Indications:

• Acute and colonized wounds with moderate to high exudate
• Stage 1 to 2 pressure ulcers
• Venous and arterial leg ulcers
• Diabetic ulcers
• Second degree burns
• Traumatic wounds
• Donor locations

Advantages:

• No need to activate and ready to use.
• Immediate effect and significant reduction in the volume of bacteria on the wound surface due to the presence of silver ions

• Resistant to a wide range of microorganisms

• Absorption of water and purulent drainage of wounds up to 20 times the weight of the dressing due to the presence of calcium alginate in it

• Carboxymethyl cellulose gels in contact with wound exudate and prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound (ion exchange between the calcium in the dressing and the sodium ions in the wound). This gel also keeps it moisturized and accelerates granulation tissue formation of the wound.

• Easy and painless replacement since it is soft, flexible and non-adhesive.

• No need to use other disinfectants and antibiotic ointments.

• Without any sensitivity and non-irritability according to ISO10993-10 standard

• Without any cytotoxicity according to ISO10993-5 standard

Attention:

The maximum time to apply this dressing on the wound is 48 hours.
